Following the release of Cirium’s On-Time Performance Report for 2022, Japanese airlines and airports continue to deliver passengers to their arrival gates on time. Cirium CEO, Jeremy Bowen, accompanied by Mieko Kosaka, Cirium Sales Manager, congratulated the airlines and airports officials on their exceptional accomplishments and presented them with the On-Time performance awards.
All Nippon Airways (ANA), the Japanese airline, was named the Global and Asia Pacific’s most punctual airline in the Network category. The company recorded an impressive 89.79% punctuality within the Global Network Category and operated its flights within the Asia Pacific Network category with a punctuality rate of 89.79%. ANA received the award at an award ceremony held on March 29th at the Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
The awards were received by Mr. Shinichi Inoue, Representative Director, President and CEO of ANA, Mr. Katsuo Yokoyama, Member of the Board of Director Senior Executive Vice President, Mr. Yoichi Katsuoka, Executive Vice President (President of ANA WINGS CO., LTD.), and Mr. Hideki Mineguchi, President & Chief Executive Officer.
StarFlyer Airlines, was named the most punctual low-cost carrier with an exceptional punctuality rate of 95.23%. A ceremony was held at Kitakyushu Airport in Japan on March 28th to celebrate the airline’s remarkable achievement and honor its global excellence in On-Time Performance in 2022. The award was received by StarFlyer’s President and CEO, Mr. Osamu Machida.
Japanese airports also earned the top positions in all categories (Global, Large, Medium, and Small) for their punctuality performance. A series of award ceremonies were held during the final week of March at each respective airport location to mark their outstanding achievements.
Mr. Nobuaki Yokota, President & Chief Operating Officer, received an award for Global airport Haneda which recorded an impressive 90.33% on-time performance. Osaka International (Itami) Airport achieved 94.06% and won in the Large airport category, with Mr. Benoit Rulleau – Representative Director & Co-CEO, Mr. Yannick Aillerie, Corporate Executive Vice President, Mr. Hiroshi Nishio – Corporate Executive Vice President (head of Itami Airport) in attendance. Chubu Centrair International Airport, with 94.21%, won in the in Medium airport category, with Mr. Riki Inuzuka, President & Chief Executive Officer receiving the award. Miyazaki Airport won in the small airport category, with President, Mr. Hiroyasu Nagayama, accepting the award for their 93.29% on-time performance.
Overall, Japan has demonstrated its commitment to punctuality and excellence in aviation. Cirium’s CEO, Jeremy Bowen, congratulated all the top performers and said, “Congratulations to the top airlines and airports in each of the categories for their exceptional on-time performance, and we look forward to raising the bar in 2023 and beyond—with a focus always on the travelers and communities we serve.”
